What a happy day!

As the Supreme Court passed a ruling to support marriage equality we
were overwhelmingly giddy planting a sunshine garden. Bright greens,
yellow and white flowers, variegated foliage had us jumping in joy.
You just can't walk by so much happy yellow and not smile. Pure
bliss! Yes for happy gayness!!!!

LCV's graduation "class of 2013"

The teachers put such a great show. It was all Dr Seuss themed

Monkey made a cute looking cat in the hat. But she sure did not wanted
to perform once she saw her mommy. They say she was the best dancer
at practice time.

Doesn't matter. And there is always ice cream and cake to make a party fun!

Amy Elizabeth | Elisa Amelia

This is my soul mate. My cousin Amy. We "met in the womb"
we provably met way long before that.

And this is one of our best memories together. This is pure happiness
and freedom.

I wish Laurel gets a chance to experience what we have. Hope you can
find or have found your best friend (soon)

Newly remodeled Echo Park Lake

Spent the afternoon and evening with our dear friend Colin and his
lovely lady B.

echo park has changed since we moved in 2001... But it has done so in
leaps and bounds since we left in 2008. And the newly finished lake
it's just the frosting. It was fun to walk around and most
importantly it was so nice to observe that the park is a park for all.
It's visitors truly did (for me and B at least) represented the make
up of our city's diverse population. All races and ages.

Recently there was an article about how highland park is better than
echo park. I wish that was the case as that will mean our property
gains more value. But after this afternoon in EP... No way. Not yet.
At least.

Elysian park!

This were our old trails back in echo park. We had not taken laurel to
see it. We really hadn't been here since we left in 2008!

It was fun to see it again. Horses are still there. More people on the
trails (nice) and the view is still awesome.

But it made me appreciate even more our Debs park. It's terrain is
more challenging and the freeway is much more quite (if any). But
it's also a bit more wild

Nonetheless I love LA for having such large chunks of wild hills in its midst!

Pancake bday cake for US!

Sunday turned out to be a magical day. I'm not exaggerating. One of
those days we will remember for ever.

Jeff had worked long and extremely late on Saturday into Sunday. He
was still sleeping and I decided to make pancakes to keep laurel
entertained. But we didn't have butter! Thanks to mami crisis was
avoided by a great tip of apple sauce and cream cheese. The pancakes
came out great and laurel was happy.

Later on we all played "tickle robots" in bed and hugged. Laugh.
Kissed. Tickled. "Again" "again". It was just beautiful.

So laurel remembered a similar day once before. Where we had a bday
for all of us. She found the 3 candles we had used in the "catch all
drawer"

We built a pancake cake with banana, apple sauce and pomegranate syrup!

And we sang happy birthdays to US!

What to do with half hour?

At 730 am up a canyon in the Santa Monica mountains? You go on an
awesome hike amongst the most clear coastal sage scrub land I have
ever encounter, weeds (great and not so great ones) and private horse
stables

What to do with an extra hour?

You go to the Awesome playground and top it off with "Oreo cheesecake
and Raspberry Jamaica" ice creams from the new Scoops ice cream shop
in town!
