Breakfast+milk!

New routine this weekend!

We get up and have a proper breakfast in our bright dining room nestle among the trees.

Today we are enjoying whole wheat english muffin with butter and a fancy fig jam (gift from my office's Scott).

Laurel also I now on cow's milk! Yay!
And we are aiming to remove the bottle. She has been doing great with the straw cups.

Buenos dias!

Just like family

Meet Jim Reed. Our dear neighbor who immediately took us in and has been a constant source of love and blessings since we met.

Jim's family comes from the Caribbean too. Who knows we may be related, just a little different spelling on the names! But for sure we know this: Jim feels just like family.

He knows what count Laurel's teeth are up too. He wants to know what type of antibiotic or vaccine she is getting. Jim was one of the first to visit us at the hospital. He prays and blesses every opportunity we get (and I bet you he has helped us get them too).

Thank you and may the lucky stars keep you near us for a long, long time! I hope you know how much we love you too!

Big bear hug with a good warm laugh like you have that's so enjoyable.

Another hug!

forward facing now!

Today we went to the CHP to get our car seat installation checked and wouldn’t you know! The popos decided that based on our car seat guidelines it was time to “graduate” Laurel to the front facing position.

When I got there we went into the office, and they asked us to move the car to another section of their station. So then the cops came out and suggested he walked Laurel so that we wouldn’t have to put her in the car seat. And she surprisingly loved it! wouldn’t come back to my arms for a little while!  Put her foot on his gun, guess she felt safe! so funny!

Eating salad with momma

Today she has been saying 'NO' very appropriately. She is also starting to be more assertive as to what she wants or does not want. And a few tears where shed when I took my fork off her hands ...'Cause mommy's fork is better than the silly spoons, and a regular spoon too!

She tried the swiss chard several times. First was a huge yuk! But then she kept trying. Although she never swallowed it as she just can't chew it up.

Did not want anything to do with the grapefruit (wonder who she takes it from, jeff?) And the blackberries either.

It was fun. But I did have little hands all over my salad!

"Sick day"

So we are home today. Laurel will be under antibiotics as a precaution because it might be a mild bronchitis.

So today we are home to observe how she does with the antibiotics.

Right now she is enjoying a fig breakfast bar and playing with her birthday balloon!

Kentucky derby

On Saturday we went to our dear friend Carrie Bryden’s home for a Kentucky derby bash. Carrie is our realtor (that’s how we met) and she was also who connected us to the fortune of HGTV’s Room crashers. We will be forever grateful of the luck to be her friend!

This pictures were taken by a co-worker of Carrie, Maggy Gousse, who’s form Haiti. Small world!

Apparently I was dressed as a lemonade, so my “hat” was very well themed! Too bad the picture is blurry, but you get the idea!

It was a fun weekend!
