The Meyer lemon story

Meyer lemon is a divine lemon hybrid crossed with mandarin orange
It's aromatic, lemonie and sweet all at once.

So I got a dwarf one with a satsuma last year. But I had planted a
couple of nice drought tolerant free shrubs in the spot of the citrus.
The only spot in our slope that may get enough sun.

Enter Cedar Waxwing. A gorgeous migrating bird that I have been
wanting to spot for years. When a "thung" sound at our large dining
room window we ran to see and there he was. A juvenile (only one red
"wax" tip on a wing).

Since the lemon had been looking sad I knew what needed to be done.

But as always any home project turns into a bigger project. Jeff
tackled the stumps we had there. When he should have been resting
(much much needed).

Let's hope the little waxwing gives our lemon the boost it needs!

More on our slope

Red baron peach is too cool!

Unfortunately I took out the artichoke today (silver leaf below
laurel) as it was full of aphids. Last year we didn't eat any cause
of that. But instead I'm finally committing to planting our citrus!
More later.

Spring has sprung!

The red baron peach is making its best show ever! My native
California verbenas are also really happy and the red nasturtium have
come back from seeds I grew las year. In the corner a white flowering
plum that I hacked not too well is struggling. But more buds are
coming and hopefully I can prune it better next time around!
In the background our neighbors purple lantana (per my suggestion) is
doing great!

Tons of bees and butterflies are visiting us!

Arroz con habichuela siempre es bueno!

2 days straight

Miss Laurel wore her favorite shirt Wednesday to go to school. Didn't
get a shower that night (was too tired) and didn't let me take the
shirt off. Next morning she didn't let jeff change her shirt either.
So she went back to school wearing the same shirt. I had to 'dump
them both' in the tub together to separate them!

pictures with me were for dad : "I got the monkey!"

She had a little incident today. She tripped and got a boo boo on her
left side by her eye. Boooooo

Ps. Check out the hairdo they gave her today!
